Of Cobden, passed away peacefully at Caressant Care Nursing Home, Cobden, on Saturday, October 25, 2014 in her 100th year. Gladys Francis, nee Bates, beloved wife of the late Herb Francis, was born in Heaslip, Ontario to Leonard and Ellen (nee Ball) Bates on September 15, 1915. Dear mother of Ken (Helen); and Fay (Earl Bennett), all of Cobden. Dear grandmother of Chad (Aline) Francis, Ottawa; Dana Francis, Kingston; Kristy (Jeff Dahms), Cobden; Tania Bennett (Kris Raby), Barrhaven. Proud Great-Grandmother of Xavier and Julien Francis.
Predeceased by 3 sisters, Dorothy (late Joe Fanning), New Liskeard; Marjory (late Floyd Harman), Englehart; Phyllis Bates (late Jim Crighton), Bobcaygeon and 2 brothers-in-law, Stewart and Clinton Francis. Also survived by much loved nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Fraser-Morris and Heubner Funeral Home, Cobden, on Wednesday, Oct. 29. Service is in Grace United Church, Cobden, Thursday at 11 a.m. Interment Rosebank Cemetery. Donations to Grace United Church Memorial Fund would be appreciated.
