Members of the OPP in Leeds County diverted a number of issues over loose livestock in the county.
On October 2, 2017 officers were called to a residence on Kitley Line 8 in Elizabethtown-Kitley Township to assist in settling a callers concern over wandering bulls attempting to meet with the complainants heifers. While OPP were settling the dispute a herd of goats escaped their confines.
On September 27, 2017 in the same township, near Motts Mills, officers were called to a loose pony that was reported on the roadway and had since fled into the bush. Reports are that this pony is still outstanding.
On September 26, 2017, on Kelly Road in Elizabethtown-Kitley Township a herd of cattle was reported on the roadway. They were corralled back onto the property.
OPP remind residents with livestock that they have a duty to ensure their animals do not stray onto neighbouring properties or the roadway.
