RENFREW COUNTY (Pembroke) — During the unprecedented times of COVID-19, the staff at Pembroke Regional Hospital continue to work hard to safeguard the health of our community. In response to the overwhelming community support for frontline and essential workers at PRH, they are launching the Health Care Heroes (HCH) campaign from June 1 to 30.

“On behalf of the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation Board of Directors, we are honoured to facilitate the recognition of our HCH, as per the wishes of our amazingly supportive community,” said Lisa Edmonds, PRH Foundation Chair. To celebrate and recognize the hospital’s 775 staff and 90 physicians, each will receive a HCH pin and a card of thanks. This campaign will recognize all team members from all departments.

“To all PRH staff, thank you for being there for us during COVID-19 and each and every day,” said Peter Boczar, long-time supporter of the Pembroke Regional Hospital and PRH volunteer. “When we need you, you’re there [and you’re] professional and caring. Thank you to all PRH staff!” He purchased the first pin, championing the HCH program. Donations recognizing the HCH can be made online at www.weblink.donorperfect.com/PRHF_HealthcareHeroes or by mailing a cheque to the PRH Foundation office. Donations of $20 or more will be eligible for a tax receipt.

If a donation is made, there is optional space on the online donation form to write a thank you note to a HCH. Alternatively, a note with your donation can be sent by mail to the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation at 705 Mackay St. in Pembroke, Ont., K8A 1G0. All surplus fundraising from the HCH campaign will be directed towards The Cutting Edge campaign, to upgrade and modernize the in-patient surgical floor and support the Orthopaedic program at PRH.
