Hilda Behrens (nee Ritsema) passed away peacefully at the Pembroke Regional Hospital, with her family by her side on Friday February 28, at the age of 79 years. Hilda Behrens of Eganville, beloved wife of the late Kai Behrens. Loved and cherished mother of Carola Behrens of Penticton, B.C. and Carl Behrens (Leonor) of Woodbridge. Loving grandmother to Alyssa Maria, Marcus Kai, Marielle and Linden Behrens. Sister of Heike Entjes and Meiske van Maar (both of the Netherlands), Ed Ritsema of Griffith, Betty Peplinskie of Round Lake, Connie Beninger of Bracebridge, Rita Potter of Blythe, Ont., Murray Ritsema of Teeswater and the late Jantje Zwart and Sylvia Kent. A memorial funeral service will be held on today at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Germanicus. Located at 1986 Lake Dore Road in Golden Lake, at 11:00 a.m. Private family inurnment of Hilda’s ashes in the Wingham Cemetery.
