In many ways, I did win:
1. Five of the seven spots were won by those I supported
2. My vote count of 1,100 means I am not alone in wanting growth and development.
3. I am pleased with the make-up of council who mostly share my thoughts.
However, if I did win, I would push for a Development Committee consisting of the Mayor, Reeve and two pro-growth councillors. The previous council had a Development Committee but it was a committee of the whole which meant all of council, thereby neutering it. Just because the election is over, it doesn’t mean we can rest.
Please lobby our new council and insist on a Development Committee.
