COBDEN — The Buy Local Contest in Whitewater Region has ended and over the two months more than 2,300 suggestions for businesses and resources for the Info Station searchable online database was collected.
Over 60 businesses were competing to win a laptop computer provided by the Computer Port in LaPasse. The top competitors were the Whitewater Bromley Medical Centre in Beachburg with 56 unique suggestions, Kenny’s Store in Westmeath with 67 suggestions and with 153 suggestions, the winner was Valli Handi Man owned by Brian Sullivan of Beachburg.
Hundreds of residents made suggestions for a chance to win the 48-inch Sony Smart TV provided by Schauer Home Hardware. The winner of the draw is Jane Johnson of Beachburg whose suggestion was Jeff Johnson Homes in Beachburg.
Although the contest has ended, suggestions for businesses and resources can still be entered at www.whitewaterregion.com/infostation. A free listing will be offered to all suggested businesses and resources on the Info Station searchable online database.
Once everyone has filled out their listing information, the Information Station will be complete and it will be linked with the Whitewater Region Municipal website. It will then be very easy to find the products and services that are available locally. If you want assistance with your business, or want to begin a business, contact Mr. Kenny, 613-646-2282 ext. 33.
