Grace United Church is located at 27 Main Street in the town of Cobden. We are a congregation of people who are seeking to grow in our faith, who serve our church and community and who share generously of time, talent and treasures. After many years of faithful service our current church organist has decided to retire. We are seeking a new church musician and are approaching our search with openness and flexibility.
Our ideal candidate;
- approaches the role with musical enthusiasm informed by faith
- can play the organ and the piano with finesse, rhythm, at tempo and as an accompaniment to the choir and congregation in way that brings out our best singing for worship.
We are a congregation of about 100, with an average attendance of 30-40. We have a small but committed choir, which could grow with the right nurturing.

- stability; we are financially stable and have solid leadership, lay and ordained
- we have a grand piano and a pipe organ
- several in our congregation play instruments
- our congregation has a long history of good music and our sanctuary is one of the best acoustic spaces in town
- we have technology for worship including Audio and Visual systems
- we have a good library of music
We anticipate the position would be for 3 hours per week, which includes a 1.5 hr choir rehearsal and Sunday morning worship. Compensation to be negotiated.
