WHITEWATER REGION (Haley Station) — Teenage singer Khloe Bertrand is thankful for the community support she has received in Talent Nation online.
It’s a month-long online voting event, because buzz and engagement are two keys to a successful music career, noted Talent Nation in an email.
Khloe, 15, is the daughter of Marc and Kerri of Haley Station. She performed in Talent Nation in Ottawa in mid-February and in mid-March was advised she made it to the online voting phase.
The voting phase is April 1 to May 1. There are 56 competitors vying for the stop spots.
Explaining, Khloe said people can go to the Talent Nation web page and click on the ‘clapping hands’ to vote. There is also the opportunity to listen to the song she performed and vote for it as well, she said.
In Week 1, Khloe was ranked third out of the 56 competitors, but jumped into the lead in Week 2.
“Every view, comment and shares from the Talent Nation post all help me out so much to achieve my goal of staying in the top five for some awesome developing opportunities,” Khloe said.
There is still two weeks to go and she knows she needs the continuous support of the people behind her.
Khloe’s link is www.talentnation.live/khloe, while the general link to the gallery is www.talentnation.live/clap. She encourages everyone to share the link on their social media pages and ask people to clap and vote for her.
In an email from Talent Nation, it states, “Delivering a successful live performance is one thing. In today’s music landscape however, online buzz and engagement is the key to a successful music career. Our voting phase was specifically designed to help our industry partners determine the market potential for each artist performed on our stage.”
The development opportunities for the top acts include recording original music, video/photo shoots, marketing strategies.
The voting phase is based on four criteria: 35 percent on performance quality as determined by producers and an anonymous panel of music industry executives; 20 percent of the claps; 30 percent of the real views a video receives and 15 percent for social media engagement.
The Top 5 ranked videos are posted to Talent Nation’s social media channels at the end of each week. At the conclusion of the voting, those who managed to successfully meet Talent Nation’s criteria, will be contacted directly to discuss the next steps, and yes, it is possible opportunities will be presented to more than one artist.
