Group Phohto: Ten members of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary to Branch 550 Cobden were presented with Canada 150 Medals. These active L.A. members were very deserving of this medal and have worked hard over the years. Those who received their medals are, from the left, Lana Dooley, Jean Douwes, Joan Smithers, Doris Wheeler, Johanna van Kessel, Eleanor Tabbert, Karen Payne, and Dorothy Angus.  Absent are Angela Bennett and Isabel Meyers. COBDEN — There were 10 Canada 150 Medals presented to Royal Canadian Legion Ladies’ Auxiliary members at the annual Honours and Awards Night in December 2016.
The 10 Canada 150 Medals were presented to Ladies’ Auxiliary Members who are active and their years of service was also a consideration.
These members were very deserving of this medal and have worked hard over the years.
The Royal Canadian Legion has struck this limited edition medal to commemorate our nation’s 150th Anniversary. Legion members and Ladies’ Auxiliary members will be authorized to wear this medal on their uniforms commencing January 1, 2017.
Karen Payne was also presented with her Ladies’ Auxiliary Life Membership at the event.
Ms. Payne has been an active member for 21 years and has held several positions, including president, in the Ladies’ Auxiliary.
