Press Release
RCDHU
The COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic team at the Pembroke Memorial Centre (PMC) is preparing to say goodbye as they host their last mass vaccination clinic at the arena on August 19th.
Since late February, the Pembroke Regional Hospital (PRH) has led the team and the clinic on behalf of the Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) – housed first at PRH and then at the PMC when the volume of those wishing to receive vaccination began to exceed the space capacity.
To date, approximately 40,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been given by the PMC team comprised of volunteers and clinical staff – all of whom responded to the call to come together and help vaccinate residents in the region.
At each clinic, approximately 70 team members have contributed to its operation and friendly atmosphere.
Anyone wishing to take advantage of the last clinic setting can either book their appointment online at www.rcdhu.com or walk-in between the hours of 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.
After August 19th, those looking to get vaccinated or receive their second dose of the vaccine will need to make an appointment at a local pharmacy, through primary care providers who will be carrying the vaccine, or through one of the region’s pop-up clinics (no appointment necessary), which will be advertised in the local media and on social media.
A weekly drive through clinic will also be taking place in Pembroke starting next week. Details will follow as they become available.
