COBDEN — Two handicapped spots will be painted in front of the Cobden Legion, Branch 550.
Whitewater Region council received a letter from the Legion executive asking if two spots could be painted for handicapped.
During last week’s council meeting, public works manager Bill Misener said the area between the gutter and sidewalk is like no-man’s land, since it’s the township who cares for the sidewalk and the County of Renfrew who cares for the street.
While the Legion does have its own parking lot, it’s easier for those who are handicapped challenge to access off the hard-top rather than the gravel parking lot.
Council agreed to the request.
