Dear Editor:
I have a question for our Township of Whitewater Region Council members: Why is it that in Cobden, Beachburg and La Passe you are not allowed to park on the sidewalk but in the village of Foresters Falls anyone who wants to park on the sidewalk can do so?
I made a phone call to council last summer to ask about the parking bylaw in Foresters Falls and no one could give me a straight answer.
After talking to the police, they told me to talk to my local council.
I have a 3-year-old granddaughter who likes to go for a walk with me and when we try to walk down the street, we have to have to go out onto the pavement around the many cars that are parked on the sidewalk.
Young, new mothers are having to do the same thing with their babies in strollers because of parked cars on the sidewalk.
So, to our Whitewater council members, what’s the difference between the village of Foresters Falls and Cobden, Beachburg and La Passe ? Why is it allowed in Foresters Falls and no where else ?
Concerned Gramma,
Peg Waite
Foresters Falls
