Dear Editor:
Re: Response to a letter to the editor regarding the story, Two more homes built by volunteers in Guatemala published in the Feb. 23 edition of www.whitewaternews.ca
I’ll start by admitting I don’t know the writer and everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I hope Mr. Mick Kennedy has a history of contributing to charity comparable to those in the original story of February 23, 2017.
While it’s true there is a need in Canada as well as most other places, what one chooses to donate to, or where, is their choice.
I don’t know the original connection to Guatemala and I don’t think it matters, as the recipients are worthy and appreciative. I do know some of those who have travelled south, many, more than once, and they should be commended on using their time and money to helping the less fortunate.
There is nothing more selfless than helping others.
That’s my opinion
