Dear Editor:
This past weekend our business, Olmstead’s Home Hardware Building Centre in Cobden, held its Grand Opening.
After approximately a year of careful planning, and another year of very hard work from staff and local contractors, it is very gratifying to see the project near completion.
While we planned the event on a large scale and tried to ensure every detail was looked after, we did not anticipate the overwhelming response we received. We are very proud of the way staff handled approx 4,000 to 5,000 people over the 3 days!
We have many people to thank for making our weekend the success that it was. Civitan for feeding everyone, Shawn Wagner and Chris Moore for showing their culinary skills, Matt Lemay for performing and organizing very talented performers, Anne Moss and staff from The Little Coffee Shop for their delicious coffee and treats, Wilderness Tours, Millar Feeds and Cobden Ag Society for use of equipment, Whitewater Brewery for donations, our suppliers for their support of gifts and prizes, and many volunteers who simply asked “how can I help”. I want to make special mention of my father who greeted every person that walked in the door….Thanks Dad!
We also want to thank you, the community. With your support we have been able to revamp and renovate the business. We will continue to offer new services and work hard to earn your trust!
Very proud of our community!
Sincerely,
Chris and Nicola Olmstead – Owners
