Editor’s Note: The November 17th Council Meeting saw the Council move to keep the street’s name as Bromley. This letter was received on November 12th.
Thank You All that have Served !!!
At Cobden service today, I was thinking of Private Gerald Bromley who served in the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry, and Died at war on July 25th, 1944 age 21.
He is remembered in honour, and lies at the Bretteville-sur-Laize Canadian War Cemetery.
The name is of particular interest as current “Bromley Street” is near the Cobden Legion.
Whitewater Council is thinking of the potentially changing the street name. This so WRONG!!
Let’s honour Private Gerald Bromley.
This Remembrance Day, I thank you, Private Gerald Bromley for giving the Ultimate Sacrifice.
yours truly,
Ron Laronde, Cobden Ontario
