WHITEWATER REGION (Cobden) — On July 17, Council for the Township of Whitewater Region approved a new by-law for a member to be added to the Whitewater Region Public Library Board (WRPLB). The General Government Committee recommend Council of the Township of Whitewater Region enact a by-law to appoint Laura Allan as an additional member to the WRPLB for the term ending November 14, 2022.
An application was received by Laura Allan from the Foresters Falls area, who will be serving as Secretary. According to Township documentation, she brings a strong background in writing, computers, office administration and research.
According to records, By-law 19-01-1142 appointed seven citizen members to the Board and By-law 18-12-1123 appointed Councillor Charlene Jackson as a council representative. The Library Board Chair has reviewed the application. It is expected that one of the current members will be moving away this fall.
