PEMBROKE — For the second year in a row, the Pembroke-Petawawa Lions Club has gifted $5,000 to the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation’s Cutting Edge Campaign to support the new orthopaedic program and upgrades to the in-patient surgical floor.
The Lions Club has invested nearly $42,000 in the Pembroke Regional Hospital to date, including a contribution to the Hospital expansion in 2005, to the new CT scanner in 2010 and the regional MRI in 2014.
“We run activities like Bingo and Lions Breakfast that help unite our community for a good cause,” said Gerry Haley, Lions Club member. “Every dollar raised goes back into the community to benefit our families, friends and neighbours.”
Receiving the donation was PRHF Executive Director Nancy Warren.
“We are thankful for the unwavering support we receive from the Lions Club,” she said. “This thoughtful gift is for everyone who relies on our regional Hospital each and every day.”
Donations towards the Cutting Edge Campaign are welcome at any time and can be made by contacting the Foundation Office at 613-732-2811 ext. 7408 or at www.prhfoundation.com
