WHITEWATER REGION (Cobden) — It has been a busy summer for local teen, Miss Khloe Bertrand. Last weekend, she placed first in the female 18 years and under category, winning gold and a trophy at the 2019 Northern Ontario Open Country Music Contest held in North Bay, Ont.

When she last spoke with Whitewater News, Miss Bertrand was looking forward to Ottawa Idol, a red carpet event held in Ottawa towards the end of June.

Since then, Mr. Guy Jamieson invited her to the park in Eganville, Ont. to perform. This saw Miss. Bertrand take the stage with local musician Mr. Steven Agnew in July. She has been busy winning many talent contests, including the Palmer Rapids Twin Music Festival’s singing competition where she placed in the top three out of 20 competitors.

Miss. Bertrand was also the first musical act on Saturday at this year’s Horton Hoedown after winning their talent contest. She opened with a song by Taylor Swift and followed with two original songs. Both songs brought tears to the eyes of audience members.

Mr. Marc Bertrand and Mrs. Kerri Bennett-Bertrand are seen with Miss. Bertrand at all of her events and competitions, proudly supporting their daughter and sharing her accomplishments for family and friends on Facebook.

If this summer is any indication, there is no stopping this local teen from Whitewater Region and we have no doubt she will achieve her dream of venturing to Nashville, Tennessee.
