RENFREW — The Renfrew Detachment of the OPP want to make the process of obtaining a criminal record check easier and faster for the public. Coming to the detachment with the proper documents and identification will speed the process for everyone. Criminal record checks and police checks are required for a variety of purposes including employment, adoption, international travel, volunteer work, citizenship, name change, student placement or to obtain a record suspension (formerly pardon).
Criminal record check pick up or drop off days at the detachment are Monday, Wednesday and Friday only. In order to process your CR or Vulnerable sector Check we require:
• a letter from the prospective employer or volunteer agency
• a completed OPP application form (LE219 or LE220)
• 2 pieces of acceptable ID
• a self-addressed stamped envelope (for returning your completed check)
Bring 2 forms of acceptable identification. One must contain a photo. We do not accept health cards as identification.

The OPP does not offer expedited service. The checks are completed in the order they are received. We process approximately 100 per week and cannot put one ahead of another, everyone is treated equally.
