Man charged following armed robbery

COBDEN – Following an investigation by the Ontario Provincial Police into armed robberies that occurred in November 2014 in Renfrew and Cobden, one man is facing charges.

Darrin Chalmers, 24, of Pembroke, has been charged in relation to the armed robberies that occurred at Conway’s Pharmacy in Cobden on Nov. 27 and Aikenhead’s Drug Store in Renfrew on Nov. 21 .

Mr. Chalmers is facing two counts of disguise with intent, two counts of robbery with a weapon and two counts of theft under $5,000.

Mr. Chalmers will appear in court in Pembroke on Jan. 20.

Detective Const. Nicole Berger of the OPP led the investigation.
