Peacefully at Miramichi Lodge, Pembroke, surrounded by the love of his family, on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at the age of 93 years. Hamor Markus of Cobden and formerly of Pembroke, beloved husband of Beverly Markus (nee Bent) and by first marriage the late Mary Isobel Markus (nee O’Brien). Loved father to Mary Kathryn Giles (Gordon), Almonte, James David Markus, Round Lake Centre, John Christopher Markus, and Virginia (Gini) Louise Walsh (Greg) both of Pembroke and the late Francis Markus. Loving grandfather to Jennifer, Bill, Ryan (Kelly), Angela (Steve), Bryan (Anya), Keith, Matthew, Allan (Trudy), Cynthia (Steve) and Brian (Kristy) and 9 great grandchildren. Sadly missed by Chelsea Blair, a cherished family friend. Dear brother of Beatrice Sullivan (late Melvin), Eva Denomme (late Bill) and the late Lillian Smith (late Ortie), Marjorie Thom (late Wilfred) and infant sister Myrtle Bessie June. Brother-in-law of Frances O’Brien. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Son of the late Louis Martin and Rosella Louella (nee Schimmens) Markus. A grateful and heartfelt thank you to all the staff of 1A, Miramichi Lodge. Friends shared their memories of Hamor with his family during visitation at the Murphy Funeral Home, Pembroke on Sunday, Dec. 2. A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, December 3, in St. Pius V Church, Osceola. Interment St. Pius V Cemetery. In memory of Hamor, donations to Miramichi Lodge Auxiliary 1A, would be appreciated.
