Whitewater News columnist Maynard van der Galien placed first in 60 percent whole wheat bread, 2nd in raisin bread and 2nd in a loaf of white bread. He had a total of seven first place winnings in field crop (hay) exhibits, and also won the Andrew Johnston Memorial Grand Champion Field Crop Exhibit for his second cut alfalfa, which also won the Champion Hay Exhibit award.
