RENFREW COUNTY (Pembroke)Yesterday, the residents of Miramichi Lodge Long-Term Care Home invited their families, staff, volunteers and local dignitaries to join them in celebrating the Lodge’s proud history of providing quality long-term care in Pembroke and the area for the past 50 years.

The first Miramichi Lodge opened its doors 50 years ago to new residents at 400 Bell Street in Pembroke. In 2005, the County of Renfrew and City of Pembroke both contributed to provincial funding to construct a new, state of the art “A” facility at its current location at 975 Pembroke Street West.

Numerous local people and businesses contributed to the capital campaign that ensured this new Home included an auditorium, known as the Community Centre.

The residents requested for the entertainment to be provided in this space to celebrate the occasion and the Miramichi Lodge Foundation coordinated many local entertainers to perform throughout the afternoon’s celebration.

Prior to the entertainment, local dignitaries brought greetings and officially opened the “Green Garden Oasis” at noon in the garden area.
