MP Gallant meets Canada Summer Job Students at Global Star Products in Cobden

COBDEN — Cheryl Gallant, M.P. for Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke, visited Global Star Products in Cobden, to see how Ryan Donohue and Jasmine Asselin were doing for their summer jobs. Ryan and Jasmine were hired with support from the Canada Summer Jobs program, and are working on product assembly.
“I was pleased to meet with Ryan and Jasmine to see how they are benefitting from their time at Global Star Products,” said MP Gallant. “Global Star is a leading innovator in personal water filtration products, and are in a great position to impart valuable skills and knowledge to the innovators of the future.”
Global Star Products of Cobden is a water purifying equipment supplier, best known for its “Clean Sip” straw, which is promoted as the “World’s Smallest Water Filter in a Straw.” The product is a compact, portable, personal water filter allowing users to have access to safe and clean drinking water anywhere.
Canada Summer Jobs provides funding to not-for-profit organizations, public-sector employers and small businesses to help them create summer job opportunities for students. It is designed to provide work experiences for students and support local organizations that provide important community services, with the goal of assisting them to more easily gain employment following school.
