Pembroke: On June 8, the Ontario Government announced that regulations regarding the use of all-terrain and utility vehicles will be updated as of July 1.
These changes will allow for individuals to use two-up style ATV’s and Side-by-side UTV’s on shoulder sections of the highways and will allow municipalities to pass their own by-laws to designate certain roadways within their limits for use of larger ATVs and off-road vehicles.
MPP John Yakabuski applauded Norm Miller, MPP Parry-Sound and his Caucus Colleague, on his important role in these regulation changes.
“Norm Miller’s Private Member’s Bill 58, Utility Task and All-Terrain Vehicles Act, 2015 which received unanimous support on February 26th, 2015 was one of the driving forces that helped move the government forward to amending these regulations,” he said, adding, “This announcement is certainly good news for the thousands of Ontarians who enjoy riding their off road and all-terrain vehicles and it comes just in time for the summer trail season” he added.
