WHITEWATER REGION — The Muskrat Novice Voyageurs worked hard on the ice and were victorious as they were declared the Novice C champions of the Pembroke International Silver Stick.

Coach Brent Gould noted the team played, and won, all five of their weekend games.

The Voyageurs shut-out Deep River 11-0 in Game 1; then defeated Mariposa 7-2 and doubled up on Lakefield 6-3 in Game 3.

In the semi-final, the Voyaguers trounced Sturgeon Lake 6-1.

The championship game was the closest, but the Voyageurs didn’t let up, and defeated Centre Hastings 7-5, bringing home the champion banner.

The Voyageurs played against four real strong teams, Coach Gould said.

“They’re a very hard-working team,” he said. “They all worked together and succeeded.
