Press Release
S Blok
2023 will be the beginning of a new era for Beachburg’s Nathan Blok as he continues to expand his racing career, with a lateral transition.
Building on the success of last year’s Production Class 3rd place finish in the Super Production Challenge (SPC), Nathan Blok is not only looking to expand his success as a driver and a driver coach, but also now in a new venture as a team owner.
This coming season, Nathan will be running in the premier class of the Super Production Challenge, in the Super production class. Blok’s new team, Futec Motorsports also based in Beachburg will begin its debut season with a single 2009 Nissan 370z.
The 2023 Super production challenge series will see Blok and Futec compete in the entire SPC season, in events such as the Grand Prix De Trois Rivieres, Chevrolet Grand Prix in Bowmanville, and Sundown Grand Prix in Mirabel, Quebec.
In addition to the full SPC Season, Futec will be accessible to any clients looking for the opportunity do drive Blok’s car, or have a high adrenaline ride along as a passenger.
In addition, Futec will be competing in various amateur Lucky Dog, Champ Car, and regional Ontario motorsports events with Blok taking a step out of the drivers seat and into the role of a team manager. “I have dabbled with some management roles in some of my previous experience as a driver coach, and have been the chief instructor of some private events.
However managing a race team is a whole new ball game. Drivers have their expectations & requirements, so do the mechanics & engineers.
I’m aware its a high pressure environment, but I wouldn’t be taking this risk if I didn’t think I could handle it. I have the passion, experience & success to allow Futec to thrive. Rome wasn’t built in a day, I just need to allow this empire time to grow as well.”
Blok’s first race of 2023 will take place at the Victoria Day Speedfest on the May 19th to 21st weekend.
