There are four vying for the mayor’s spot: incumbent Jim Labow, Joey Trimm (current council), Hal Johnson (former road superintendent) and Doug Shields.

Businessman Terry Millar and incumbent Don Rathwell are sparring for the reeve’s position.

And for the five councillor position, there are 11 people jimmying for five positions:

It is expected that the official list will be made known around 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15.

The official election day is Monday, Oct. 27.
however, you can begin voting by internet or telephone as of Monday, Oct. 20.

The only scheduled all-candidates meeting as of now is in Westmeath at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 9.

whitewaternews.ca is compiling a list of questions to email to each candidate. It is expected that each candidate will return their answers and whitewaternews.ca will publish them together in the Oct. 2 issue. If they are all in by Sept. 25, whitewaternews.ca will publish them all in the Sept. 26 issue.

Please note, if you have a question you would like to see answered by the candidates, please submit to [email protected] by Sunday, Sept. 14 at noon. The editor has already received a few questions, so will have to decide which ones to have the candidates answer.
