Obituary of Sybil Hanna

(Resident of Caressant Care, Cobden)

It is with profound sadness that we announce Sybil’s passing at Pembroke Regional Hospital on Sunday morning, February 19th, 2017. While surrounded by the love of her family, Sybil went on to be with her beloved husband of 61 years, Paddy, who predeceased her December 5th, 2016. She was 79. Mourning her loss are her children: John (Sheryl) of Cobden; Reg of Ottawa; Kelly Morin (Jean) of Victoria, B.C. and Peter (Lisa) of Stratford as well as her grandchildren: Alison Hanna, Joshua Hanna, Rachel Hanna, Peter Morin and Ben Chester and 9 great-grandchildren. Also survived by her nieces and nephews in Northern Ireland: Mark, Stephen, Alison and Colin. Only daughter of the late Thomas and Charlotte (nee Grahame) Lyons of Belfast, Northern Ireland. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation at the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior on Saturday, February 25th from 10 a.m. until the time of service in the Pilon Family Chapel at 12 noon. Spring interment Cobden Union Cemetery. In memory of Sybil, please consider a donation to the Arnprior Humane Society.

Obituary of Reginald “Paddy” Hanna

Peacefully at Renfrew Victoria Hospital on Monday morning, December 5th, 2016; Reginald Hanna of Cobden; formerly of Port Colborne and Welland passed away following a brief illness. He was 82. Beloved husband for over 60 years of Sybil (nee Lyons). Dearly loved father of John Hanna (Sheryl) of Cobden; Reg Hanna of Ottawa; Kelly Morin (Jean) of Victoria, B.C. and Peter Hanna (Lisa) of Stratford. Cherished and proud “Grandpa” of Alison, Joshua and Rachel Hanna; Peter Morin and Ben Chester and “Great-Grandpa” of 9. Dear brother of Roy Hanna of Belfast, Northern Ireland and Maureen May Ross (late Conrad) of Magnetawan, On. Predeceased by his parents: John and Rachel (nee Finley) Hanna; 2 brothers and 6 sisters. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Family and friends paid their respects during visitation at the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior on Saturday, December 10th. A Service to remember Paddy Hanna was conducted in the Pilon Family Chapel on Saturday afternoon. Spring interment Cobden Union Cemetery. In remembrance, a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the Hanna family.
