Douglas Paul Haycock , born March 7, 1940, passed away peacefully at Cobden Caressant Care Home on August 26, 2022 at the age of 82.

Doug is survived by his wife Lenore (McIntosh), married 60 years; son Keith (Sharon) – grandchildren Meghan and Matt; son Clifford (Vicki) – grandchildren Dusty and Shelby and great grandchildren Bryson, Brooklyn, Mason, Grace Lynn, Wyatt.

Predeceased by his parents Arthur Haycock and Dora (Sexsmith); sisters Nora (John Mandris), Emma (Howard Moore), Evelyn (Jim Thiessen), Rose Ann (Ken Buder) ; brothers Gordon (Verda), Jim (Roxanne) Ernie (Rose) Ken (Donna Jean).

Doug was born in London, Ontario and grew up in St. Marys until he moved to Bright in 1954. In 1960, he married Lenore McIntosh and returned to St. Marys. He was employed for 30 years at Domtar Packaging. Doug enjoyed playing darts, golf and tug of war. He was involved in minor hockey and fastball. He was a member of the Par Q committee and held executive offices in the Junior B hockey club and the Lumber Kings ball team. As an active member of the Kinsmen Club, he held many offices and was Deputy Governor of Zone F. In 1980 he was awarded a Life member of the club. He was a life member of the Presbyterian Church of Canada.

After retirement from Domtar (now Cascades) in 1998, Doug and Lenore moved to Forester Falls in the Upper Ottawa Valley. He enjoyed country living, raising chickens and turkeys, and tending his land on his tractor. He enjoyed carpentry, making furniture and became an associate member of the Cobden Royal Canadian Legion.

There will be no service and cremation has taken place – resting at the Ross Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Kerr Line, Whitewater Region, Renfrew County, Ontario.
