Sadly, we lost Marc Thomas Leblanc of Beachburg, on Friday, March 11, 2016 at the age of 37 years, in a skiing accident in Japan. He was managing a resort property and teaching snowboarding. Time off would see him in the mountainous back country of central Japan where he met his Maker. Marc is the son of Susan (nee Bertrand) Kowalski (Joe), of Beachburg and John (Jack) Leblanc and grandson of Marion Leblanc both of Pembroke. He is predeceased by his grandparents, Edythe and Delbert Bertrand and John Leblanc. Marc leaves behind his son Dylan Spencer, Pembroke, brothers Joseph Leblanc (Jen) and Joel Kowalski both of Beachburg and sisters Sarah Metcalf (Steve) of Steamboat Springs, Colorado and Katie Kowalski of Beachburg. Also deeply saddened are his many relatives and friends the world over. Marc excelled in everything outdoors. He was a river guide, kayaker, bungee jump master, climber, skateboarder, skier and snowboarder. Marc climbed Everest and solo kayaked the entire 400 km Grand Canyon in just 2 ½ days. Marc spent weeks skiing the long traverse of frozen Lake Winnipeg in minus 40 degree temperatures for fun. We share this because we live in a special place that produces such larger than life individuals like Marc. Marc also was a devoted father, an accomplished musician, star hockey player and friend to everyone who knew him. Friends called at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 296 Isabella Street Pembroke on Wednesday. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday morning March 24 at 11 o’clock in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, La Passe. Spring interment Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery. In memory of Marc, donations to Dylan’s Trust Fund, would be appreciated. Condolences, tributes, donations www.murphy-funeralhome.ca
