EGANVILLE – Tristain Lennox, goalie for the OHL Saginaw Spirit, came to Eganville to raise money for ALS research on a sunny Saturday, August 22nd.

The 17-year-old played ball hockey with the children at a lot across from the Eganville Leader on John Street, as they took donations for a pair of autographed photos of Tristain, and a goalie stick that would be given out to a raffle winner.

“I plan to do more fundraising.” Tristain said, adding that this was his firm time organizing a fundraising event.

He said half of the money would go to the Eganville Legion, and the other half to Lenny’s House charity.

Tristain’s father, Jeff Lennox, helped organize the event, and he and family members brought water for the guests as well as hand sanitizer.

“Even with the pandemic, it’s nice to see so many kids.” he said.

Tristain helped Canada come in second in the Hlinka Gretzky Cup in 2019, in Czechoslovakia, beaten out by Russia.

Born in Mississauga, he plays for the Saginaw, Michigan, and will be up for NHL draft in 2021.

According to the Lion’s Club of Eganville Facebook page, Tristain raised $1202 at the event.
