Partnering with municipalities to delivering safe, sustainable and reliable infrastructure to communities across Ontario

RENFREW COUNTY — Ontario’s government is joining with its municipal partners to deliver much-need infrastructure across the province. The government has committed funding to improve the province’s infrastructure, create jobs and grow the economy.

John Yakabuski, MPP for Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke announced today that the Ontario Government is investing over $4.6 million in a road infrastructure project in Greater Madawaska.

“Building and maintaining great roads, bridges and transit infrastructure, will help people who rely on our roads and public transit to get to work and home safely,” said Yakabuski. “We are working closely with our municipal partners, families and small business to build needed infrastructure in our community.”

Greater Madawaska Township will invest over $320,000 to support the reconstruction of Ferguson Lake road.

This investment continues to build on Ontario’s partnership with local municipalities, families and businesses to deliver safe, sustainable infrastructure to communities across the province.

“We’re continuing to work with municipalities, families and businesses, to make smart investments in our infrastructure, and keep it reliable,” said Laurie Scott, Minister of Infrastructure. “Our investments are creating jobs and growing the economy, shaping the future for hard-working families in Ontario.”

“These initiatives promise to make a real difference in people’s lives by giving them confidence in knowing that their community has safe and reliable infrastructure,” said Yakabuski “We’re excited to get shovels in the ground.”
