The new home of Studio 646 Hair Designs. An open house will be here on Saturday, Dec. 1

WHITEWATER REGION (Cobden) — Ginny Hoszko is excited about Saturday’s Open House at her relocated business Studio 646 Hair Design on Cobden’s Main Street. She currently has a business at 37 Main Street and is moving a few doors up to 45 Main Street, right beside the Cobden Legion.

Prior to moving, the building had to be fully renovated. With renovations expected to be done this week, Mrs. Hoszko is wasting no time, and the open house is on Saturday, Dec. 1, 4 to 7 p.m. But, as she talked about her open house to other business people, the event grew into an Open House Soiree.

“I am showcasing women-driven businesses in the Ottawa Valley in a pop-up shop,” Mrs. Hoszko said. “This is a great opportunity to mingle and discover the products and services available locally. This wasn’t my original plan for the event, it just sort of happened when other female local business owners approached me asking to be involved.”

Kacy Blok will provide entertainment and The Alternate Root will provide catering. There are several featured businesses, including Anna’s Swimwear and Lingerie (Pembroke), SJ Captured Photography (Eganville), Bee Savvy Honey (Arnprior), Fleurish Floral Boutique (Pembroke), Ottawa Valley Bowtique (Douglas), Ottawa Valley Yoga (Cobden) and HeLa Beauty and Medical (Deep River).

“We are hoping that this event is the beginning of a strong relationship between Ottawa Valley Boss Babes – women supporting women,” she enthusiastically stated with a laugh.

Mrs. Hoszko said while the businesses aren’t quite new, they are still getting established. There will be a few tables set up with great Christmas gift ideas while the others will be bringing brochures and information to hand out.

“It’s one Ottawa Valley business woman helping another Ottawa Valley business woman,” she said. “We’re all marketing each other on Facebook, Instagram, and sharing each other’s posts. It’s been great to connect with other women who are in the same position as me, trying to promote their small business in the valley.”
