RENFREW– The Renfrew Detachment of the OPP is encouraging citizens to prepare for emergencies before they happen.
May 1-7 is Emergency Preparedness Week in Ontario. Taking a few simple steps ahead of time to prepare will help when an emergency happens.
Do you know what to do if your community is struck by a severe storm, tornado, flooding or extended power outage? Emergencies can strike anywhere, at any time.
That’s why everyone is encouraged to be prepared—have a plan, assemble a survival kit, and stay informed.
You may need to look after yourself and your family for 72 hours. Do you have what you need? What should you pack? Where is your community evacuation site?
Learn more at www.emergencymanagementontario.ca including what to put in a survival kit, how to sign up for emergency advisories from the province and more.
Remember hoping for the best is not an emergency plan!
