OPP investigate break, enters in Petawawa

RENFREW COUNTY (Petawawa) — On January 30 at approximately 2:30 a.m., the Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) began investigating after a break and enter was reported at Bowers’ Esso Station on Petawawa Boulevard in Petawawa. A quantity of cigarettes and cash were stolen.

In relation to this incident, on March 3, officers from OPP’s Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) arrested and charged 27 year old Petawawa resident Kyle Terry Lawrence Stencell with the following Criminal Code (CC) offences:

  • Break, enter and commit an indictable offence;
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000; and
  • Fail to comply with probation – two counts.

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on March 24. A prior break and enter to Bowers’ Esso in the early morning hours of November 14, 2019 remains under investigation.
