OPP investigate overnight fires in Pembroke

PEMBROKE — The OPP, Upper Ottawa Valley detachment, is currently investigating three fires in the City of Pembroke.
Police responded to the first fire on Murray Street shortly after 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 19.
The second fire occurred at a residence on Mary Street at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 20.
In both cases the fires occurred near an entrance to the dwellings.
The third fire occurred on Isabella Street and was reported minutes after the second fire. In the case of the third fire, a motorized tamper, used to compact dirt/gravel on a road, that was parked beside a sidewalk on Isabella Street was found to be on fire.
The fires were each extinguished by the Pembroke Fire Department.
The residences sustained minor damage and no injuries were reported.
Police are treating the fires as suspicious in nature.The Upper Ottawa Valley OPP Crime Unit and the OPP’s Forensic Identification Service Unit (FISU) are assisting with the investigation.
