OPP’s Community Street Crime Unit make drug arrests

PEMBROKE — On the afternoon of Wednesday, April 10, members of the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) observed an exchange between two men on MacKay Street near Sussex Street in Pembroke. The CSCU officers arrested both parties and a subsequent search resulted in the seizure of drugs, cash and drug paraphernalia.

As a result of this incident, two Pembroke men are facing charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) and the Criminal Code (CC).

Thomas Kenneth Bresseau, age 40 of Pembroke, faces the following charges:

  • Trafficking a schedule I substance – methamphetamine
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

Christopher Robert Mirault, age 38 of Pembroke, faces the following charges:

  • Trafficking a schedule I substance – methamphetamine
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
  • Fail to comply with probation – two counts

Both men were released on a promise to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on Tuesday, May 7.
