Peewee girls win two exhibition games

BEACHBURG — The Thunder Peewee BB girls hockey team shutout Nepean and Gloucester in two exhibition games held on the weekend.
In Beachburg, the score was 4-0 with Karsyn Keetch, Emma Peever, Julia Swant and Emily George each twanging the twine.
In Gloucester against the Gloucester-Cumberland Stars, the score was 3-0 with Keetch putting the puck between the pipes twice and Peyton Gray once.
Team manager Brent Keetch noted there are 14 players on the team coming from Deep River to Renfrew. Of those, six are returning players: Keetch, Peever, Madison Pigeon, Eryka Lariviere, Louisa Fritzsche and Kenya Stevenson.
Regular season games begin on Sunday, Sept. 27, with Game 1 in Castleman.
The head coach is Jason Swant.
This weekend the girls are participating in a tournament in Oshawa.
