PEMBROKE – When US-based tribute band Rumours hits the stage at Festival Hall February 16, local singer/songwriter Sierra Levesque will have warmed up the crowd as she opens for the ultimate Fleetwood Mac tribute show.

Rumours brings to Festival Hall a show that spares no detail. Recreating Fleetwood Mac’s legendary persona in all its glory from 1975-1987. From period accurate equipment and costumes to spot-on characterizations and musical performances, Rumours will take you back to a time when music was still an unbridled cultural experience and bands weren’t afraid to put on a show.

Thirteen-year-old Sierra who performed Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams” while at a summer program in 2018 at Berklee College of Music in Boston said she’s excited to share the stage with Rumours who were formed in Los Angeles in 2012 and had great success regularly selling out their performances at the famous Roxy Theatre in L.A. before taking their show on the road to casinos, theatres and clubs all over North America.

“Opening for an experienced show like this is a great opportunity for me, especially knowing that the audience will be ready for a good time and expecting to hear some great music throughout the night,” Sierra said.

With her musical influences including Axl Rose, Avril Lavigne, Queen and Lana de Rey, Sierra said her opening set will consist of a mix of familiar covers and originals including her song “In This Life” which was recently promoted as part of Bell Let’s Talk Day as it speaks to self-worth and suicide prevention.

“Rumours will be rocking Festival Hall February 16th and I can’t wait to get the crowd going before they take the stage,” Sierra said.

Born and raised in Pembroke, Sierra is a Grade 8 student at Bishop Smith Catholic High School in Pembroke. She got her start in music locally with Pembroke’s Streetlight Theatre Company at the age of four and has performed lead roles at Ottawa’s Centrepointe Theatre with ASNY Productions in Les Miserables and Mary Poppins. She is recognized as an anthemist for the Pembroke Lumber Kings, the Ottawa Senators and a variety of other Ottawa-based sports teams. In addition to singing and songwriting, Sierra also plays piano, guitar, drums and bass.
