RENFREW COUNTY (Pembroke) — On January 21, the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) began searching for a missing 80 year old who was last seen leaving their retirement residence on foot in the west end of Pembroke at approximately 11:45 a.m. on January 21. Due several factors, including the missing person’s age and cold weather, police were concerned for their well-being.

OPP’s Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Canine Unit were engaged to assist UOV OPP officers with the search. At approximately 2:30 p.m. the missing senior was found on foot approximately six kilometres away, in good condition, by an OPP ERT officer in Laurentian Valley Township on Pembroke Street East near Robinson Lane.
