Whitewater Region Township Mayor Hal Johnson, left, presented Jack Wilson, former mayor of Laurentian Valley, with a certificate for his 50 years of municipal service. Mr. Wilson began his career as a councillor for the old Pembroke Township in 1964 before taking the reins as reeve from 1982 to 1997. He was then reeve of Stafford/Pembroke from 1997 until the creation of Laurentian Valley Township in 2000. An open house was held at the Rankin Community Centre on Saturday, giving people an opportunity to visit and say thanks. Photo submitted
