Project Runway on its way to reaching $1.25 million

WHITEWATER REGION — Whitewater Region Councillor Daryl McLaughlin gave the first of five $5,000 installments to the Pembroke Airport Commission.

Commission Chair Allan Wren was at the May 16 council meeting to accept the cheque.

“This gentleman does amazing work with the airport,” said Coun. McLaughlin.

Mr. Wren had plenty of praise for Whitewater Region council.

“I’d like to commend this council for having a vision for the future, to support the airport moving forward and to ensure the quality of life of your residents through the work the airport does,” he said.

Project Runway is a five-year fundraising campaign to raise $1.25 million to resurface the runway.

“With the donation, Project Runway is now at 10 percent of its goal in six months,” Mr. Wren said, adding, “It’s moving forward full steam.
