PUBLISHER, NOW POLITICIAN?

I am not a politician. I am an entrepreneur. I create jobs, growth, opportunity and prosperity. However, that has become exceedingly difficult in the past dozen years. ItÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s obvious to me provincial urban bureaucrats do not want us living and working in rural Ontario. Why else foist Ã¢â‚¬Å“Endangered SpeciesÃ¢â‚¬Â, Ã¢â‚¬Å“Archeological AssessmentsÃ¢â‚¬Â, Ã¢â‚¬Å“Sensitive LakesÃ¢â‚¬Â, Ã¢â‚¬Å“ANSIÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s (Areas of Natural and Scientific Interest)Ã¢â‚¬Â etc, etc on us? They are all growth and development killers.
From my vantage point, I see it all the time. After 40 years, I am nearing the end of my business career and my focus is preparing it and our municipality for my children and yours, hence, my name on the ballot. There is no reason why there can’t be jobs here for young people. Do our children grow up with all this beautiful space around us and then be forced to live in suburbia or in stacked urban boxes because there are no jobs in rural Ontario. If we continue to let the province force this nonsense on us, our children will be denied the choice.

Can you believe in the 21st century that we don’t have the technology to install septic systems around Muskrat Lake closer than a 1,000 from the lake? Total nonsense! All these policies do nothing more than steal the value of our property. We have the power to stop it but it takes a Mayor and Council to fight. If the province wants to protect endangered species or develop archeological sites, then let them do it. Don’t force it on us. To me, there is only one issue in this election ts growth, development and prosperity resulting in lower taxes because of an expanded tax base. That will not happen if we meekly acquiesce to the development killing policies of our heavy handed, top down province.
