Press Release
RCDHU
On August 30th, Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) confirmed that residents who have not received a second dose, and it has been greater than 40 days since their first dose, will receive an automated call from Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Moore.
This automated call is part of the provincial campaign to encourage individuals to pursue a second dose COVID-19 vaccination appointment.
Eligible RCD residents can expect to receive this automated second dose encouragement call on Tuesday, August 31 between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. from a caller ID displaying the number 888 and “ONT GOVT” (for carriers that allow call display).
Those looking to get vaccinated or receive their second dose of the vaccine will need to make an appointment at a local pharmacy, through primary care providers who will be carrying the vaccine, or through one of the region’s pop-up clinics (no appointment necessary), which will be advertised in the local media, RCDHU’s COVID-19 Vaccine Rollout webpage and on social media.
For details specific to vaccination registration and appointments (i.e., what you need to bring), visit the COVID-19 Vaccination Appointment Checklist.
