The Council heard a recommendation that Council of the Township of Whitewater Region support the granting of the red-line revisions to the Wren Subdivision Draft Approved Plan of Subdivision subject to the modification noted in this report (County File 47T93005).

CAO Burton said the motion was part of the second part of the four-phase development of the Wren Subdivision and their potential changes would allow the Township to make changes to the original agreement.

He said the red line changes were minor changes to the agreement, which was drafted in the 90s.

“They are not increasing the number of lots nor decreasing the number of the lots, they’re just making some adjustments.”

“It’s an opportunity for the Township to examine the conditions and see if any changes need to be made.”

He said they wished to modify Condition 10 to highlight the McLeod Drain in the agreement on drainage, and Condition 15, on ground water levels, required ‘additional examination of ground water area, and engineers can provide a clear picture of the ground water situation.”

He said the next step would be to sent to the County for approval, and the Township is a ‘commenting agency’.

Councillor Nicholson asked what the time for the draft approval would exist.

“In the body of the report, Wren Subdivision was approved in 1994, and typically those approvals are for 3 years, and after that they have to be extended annually. Since then, that extension has been delegated to the planner. We have provided the session, that occurred typically in the fall.”

“You can’t make those changes on the renewal, only on the red-line changes?” Nicholson asked.

“Yes, these redline changes opened up an opportunity for making changes.” CAO Burton said.

“None of these lines exist today, they will be put down in the next phase.”
The motion was carried.
