The Council heard a recommendation that Council of the Township of Whitewater Region approve an amendment to the zoning category of the property known municipally as 16 Main Street, from “Mixed Use Commercial (MC) Zone” to “Residential One – Exception Ten (R1-E10) Zone” as a public meeting.

Ivan Burton said the amendment was submitted on ‘a formality of the owner’.

“Essentially the owner is looking to refinance the said property, but the mortgage provider is having difficultly doing so due to the commercial zoning.” he said.

“The exception is merely to recognize the smaller lot size. The lot is a smaller lot size that is typically allowed in our bylaws.”

He said that all the main street properties were commercial zones to allow for commercial

There was no-one in attendance from the public.

“Is that the house with the big wooden scaffold in front?” Councillor Mackay asked, to which he was told it was not.

There were no further questions, and the motion was carried.
