Can you find 30 minutes a day to live a healthier, more independent life? Even if you can fit in 10 minutes of activity 3 times a day at a moderate to vigorous intensity you will enjoy so many health benefits! Staying fit and active will ensure that you can continue your favorite hobbies like golf, gardening or curling with more flexibility and less pain; prevent falls and recover from injuries or a fall more quickly; the list goes on and on! Getting 150 minutes of cardiovascular activity per week during the colder, darker days of winter should be easy when you join one of our fun, active programs.

You can “Get W.I.T.H. It! and walk in the halls at Beachburg and Cobden Public Schools. Join the fun in Beachburg every Monday and Wednesday and every Tuesday in Cobden from 5 – 7 pm. Everyone is welcome…this is a free program to walk with neighbours, friends and family for fun and fellowship in a safe, warm place. Drop-in at any time and walk for 10 minutes or the whole 2 hours!
There is no Get WITH It during March Break, school PA Days and when the buses are cancelled.

You can get Fit, Fun & Fully Alive! By joining one of our group fitness classes designed for older adults. Classes are led by instructors certified through the Canadian Centre of Activity and Aging at the University of Western Ontario. We have classes for all ability levels in a community near you including: Cobden, Beachburg, Westmeath, La Passe, Eganville, Foresters Falls. All are encouraged to work at their own pace and our group fitness classes always include the following class components:
• Warm-up
• Cardiorespiratory endurance (self-paced walking)
• Cardiorespiratory Cool-down

• Flexibility and Stretching

Our Nordic Walking groups are led by volunteers certified by Urban Poling Inc. Group training is offered in the Spring and Fall. Instructors can also provide personal coaching. We have poles available to loan or to purchase either for yourself or as a gift. Join us for one of our monthly walks through the year to enjoy local trails, and great company while being active.
