The Township of Whitewater Region held its Regular Council Meeting on Wednesday, March 3rd, broadcast live on Youtube at 4:45 pm.

There was no declaration of interest.

The agenda included hearing reports such as the final plans for the Olmstead Jeffrey Lake Road construction.

Joe Kowalski was also present via video call in order to present two issues: a request to be able to officiate marriages at his rafting business, and a request for Whitewater to pursue involvement in boating ban discussions for the region over the spring, in light of the 2019 flood.

Council Meeting is available online at Whitewater Region’s Youtube Channel, where it streams for up to three hours.

Videos of the streams remain on the channel.

The open meeting ended at 8:10pm, when the Council voted to move into closed session to discuss an active sale of land, and ended the stream.

In addition, councillors expressed disapproval at the bi-weekly meetings extending beyond three hours, and suggested they be moved weekly.

Individual issues are featured within.
