The Township of Whitewater Region held its Regular Council Meeting at the Municipal Town Hall at 4:45pm on October 5.

Councillor David Mackay was not in attendance.

Councillor Chris Olmstead declared interest in the first public meeting, which necessitated it to be moved to the next Council Meeting on October 19th.

“Dave Mackay is not coming so we’ll have to postpone to next meeting” Clerk Miller said.

“It’s a public meeting, we still need to pass a motion but we don’t have quorum.”

“We do pass a bylaw after it. No I think we should just postpone it.”

Announcements

Mayor Moore announced Beachburg Days and Fireworks at 7pm at the Beachburg Agricultural Fairgrounds, with fireworks and drive-in bingo.

Mayor Moore said. “Most important we don’t forget about the drive-in bingo.”

He also announced the All Candidates meeting at the Cobden Agricultural hall on October 12, and the Taste of the Valley on October 15 from 8am to 3pm.

Notice of Motion

Mayor Moore asked for a notice of motion to investigate updating the council chambers flag to the new township flag.

“We have a policy about our flags and I can email you about it.

“The one in our room here.”
